Film in Hospital at Weird festival, Valencia!

Film in Hospital’s Spanish partner, Pack Magic, was invited at Weird festival to talk about our project. Weird Market is the most important professional animation, video games and new media market which takes place in Spain and one of the most important European markets. Weird (former 3D Wire) appears as a renowned event in the Mapping the Animation Industry in Europe publication of the European Audiovisual Observatory and the European Commission. Go Alfred!

Hidden Cinema, the game of Film in Hospital

The Italian partner – Nuovo Fantarca – has developed Hidden Cinema, a browser game based on the Hidden Object gamification mechanic, which consists of introducing a type of puzzle where you need to pay attention to locate hidden objects within a static area.

In this game, the player wanders from one place to another to discover objects that alow the player to finish the game. Each object refers to a Movie. The player climbs the leaderboard based on their progress.

The Film in Hospital team got to meet again in Milan for their annual conference about the project. This time, we decided to come to Milan to meet the research team of the Catholic University who shared their findings with us. Very exciting!

Discover the content of Film in Hospital: Inside the Aquarium (SE)

Inside the Aquarium (se: Inifrån Akvariet) is a Swedish live action shortfilm directed by Lina Berger about two girls: Billie and Amina. After a row out on the yard the neighbors, the 10 year olds become friends. They discover that they have more in common than they suspected and create an equally as playful as self-evident co-existence. Discover the content of Film in Hospital: Fine Dust (IT)

Fine Dust (it: Polvere sottile) is an Italian animated shortfilm directed by Alessandra Boatto, Gloria Cianci and Sofia Zanonato about the earth that has succumbed to pollution. Everything is submerged under a sea of dust. A woman survives with the help of an improvised raft and the food that she recovers from the city. Finally, she will land on an island. The three female directors graduated in animation from the  Centre for Experimental Cinema (CSC) and Fine Dust was their thesis film. Discover the content of Film in Hospital: Witchfairy (BE)

Witchfairy (nl: heksenfee) is a Belgian animated shortfilm with no dialogue, directed by Cedric Igodt and David Van de Weyer about Rosemary, a young fairy, who leads a boring life at the fairytale castle. She’d rather be a witch so she can scream and get really messy. Her mother doesn’t like the sound of that, so Rosemary takes her stuff and sets off to the witch forest. Film in Hospital at the culture for health conference in Slovenia

Film in Hospital spreads the word! The CultureForHealth Report was presented at the Arts & Culture for Health & Health for the Art & Culture Conference on April 20 in Ljubljana; Slovenia.

The main focus of the conference was double: Firstly as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the formalisation of Asociacija (a national network advocating for independent arts and culture) and secondly to underscore the effects culture and the arts have on health and well-being. The conference built on the findings of the CultureForHealth report with recommendations for policy-making. The program featured presentations of inspiring national and international projects and initiatives that demonstrated in practice the positive effects that culture and the arts have on health and well-being.

Our Slovenian partner, Kinodvor, gave a wonderful presentation about Film in Hospital!
